Be wise and not vice

Be Wise not Vice

Being honest is a part of the culture in a country. I’ve heard people who have visited Japan say it has very few theft cases and strong patriotism. In contrast, some people in our country feel proud speaking English and avoid their local language, even when they are in the same state, like Tamil Nadu, whether in India or abroad. Another problem is that people quickly find faults and create a bad impression of places.

Once, two of our countrymen were traveling by train in Japan. They found the journey comfortable but noticed there were no food vendors like in Indian Railways. They talked in English, saying that although Japan has high-tech trains, there’s no food available like in India. A Japanese person heard them and gave them a bunch of bananas. Surprised, our countrymen asked for the price. The Japanese person replied, "The price is to not say that nothing is available on trains in Japan."

The moral is: Speak your language and don’t complain about others, especially in their country.
