Maximum or Optimum
During summer, we enjoy drinking lemonade. My dad often complained that my mom didn't squeeze the lemons enough to get all the juice out when she made it. When we were young, my mom would just ignore his complaints and never explain her way of doing things. One day, my dad got the chance to make the lemonade himself. Despite using a lot of sugar, the lemonade didn't taste as good and was a bit sour.
Dad used all his strength to squeeze the lemons, while Mom didn't use as much force but focused on making the lemonade taste good. Using maximum strength didn't result in the best lemonade, but Mom's method of using just the right amount of effort made it taste perfect.
It’s evident that at most times, Optimum effort gives the maximum satisfaction and it is not necessary that maximum effort would yield maximum satisfaction. What is optimum is for the users to experience and excel.
