Work is Worship

Work is Worship

Work is worship, but in India, this idea is often just in books. People judge others by their jobs, (not referring by caste) but within professions, viewing some jobs as low and others as prestigious. A colleague mentioned he stopped doing a certain job long ago, calling it a "mean" job he did when starting out in his profession. During COVID times, some (mean job) professionals were busy writing books or accounts and were in high demand while others had little to do.

We should strive for excellence in our fields without ranking jobs as superior or inferior. Global practices for preparing and reviewing financial statements offer clear standards and guidance on how reports should be made, using terms like "must" or "should." Big 4 firms often bid on jobs considered "mean" by some. Remember, no job is mean, and by following the principle that work is worship, we can achieve greatness.
